Intentionally built on partnerships with groups who have been left behind by technological revolutions in the past, we are not only creating a sustainable supply chain but also creating thriving wage job opportunities and generating economic flow to historically marginalized communities, embedding environmental equity into every step of our business.

Domestic production

While most  supercapacitor active materials are derived from synthetic petroleum-derived resins or south Pacific coconut husk, florrent starts with waste biomass grown domestically in the United States. We bring this biomass feedstock through a patented activation process to create our Contoured Carbon™, which is at the core of florrent's innovation in higher energy density.

From waste to wattage

florrent valorizes biomass waste streams—which would otherwise end up being burned or going to a landfill to turn into CO2 or methane—by locking the carbon from this waste away into activated carbon. Sequestering this waste stream in a solid mineral form as Contoured Carbon™ removes it from the CO2 cycle, and also helps to unlock performance improvements in florrent's industry leading supercapacitors.
